We offer many crop insurance products to enhance your MPCI policy and cover some of the gaps in coverage. MPCI insures against severe losses on a unit basis, but our hail plan gives you acre-by-acre protection to give you full coverage (up to the value of the crop). Our hail policies also cover losses from Fire. Additional perils, including wind, are able to be covered in some states.

One frequently asked question we receive regarding crop hail insurance is "When does the hail insurance become effective?"  The answer can be broken into two time periods, which are the following:  

• Before 8/1 - Policy is effective the earlier of 2 hours or 12:01 a.m. following the date and time of binding*
• 8/1 & after - Policy is effective 12:01 a.m. of the day following the date of binding*

* Binding is considered when the agent keys and activates the coverage or we receive your request to bind coverage, you and your agent sign the application, and it is timely received in the appropriate processing office
